My artwork is 2 red horns and a gold halo on a white base. I made it out of plaster gauze, papier mache, wire, and wood. I got a piece of wood and covered it in plaster gauze. That was for the base. I made a circle with wire covered in papier mache and painted it with gold paint for the halo. I made the horns out of a mold I made with tinfoil. I covered it in plaster gauze and repeated the same thing for the other horn. I glued the horns to the base and then glued the halo to the horns. I was inspired by my two cats. One of them is really nice to me all the time and the other one will be nice to me for a while but then she will completely ignore me, plus, she gets really cranky. I wanted to make something out of materials that I haven't used before. I have never tried to make something out of wire and papier mache before, but it was really fun and simple. It was fun to make this artwork because I got to use a lot of new materials. I like my artwork a lot because I know that it represents my cats and I love cats. I wanted to put red x's and gold o's on the base but I liked the plain white base so it wasn't too distracting. Target Evidence: Non-RepresentationalMy teacher gave me feedback on my artwork. She gave me ideas on how to make the base and halo. I used her ideas and they made my artwork a lot better. At first I planned to make my base out of cardboard but we went to the woodshop and got a piece of wood and I like it with a wooden base. Instead of just painting the base white, I covered it in plaster gauze which looks a lot nicer than what I had planned. I used a lot of plaster gauze which I had only used once for a bowl. It worked really nice for what I was making. I also have never used papier mache using Mod Podge and paper towels so I was nervous about what it would turn out as, but it worked better that I thought it would. I didn't know how to get the halo to stay when the Tacky Glue was drying so I took the glue bottle and held it up with that. Then I moved it so I could put the glue away and while it was drying it tipped a little, but I think it looks good if it is tilted because it doesn't look like it is just sitting there.
